PREVENTION OF SLAVERY, SERVITUDE, FORCED AND COMPULSORY LABOUR AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT
ABOUT SIZANID STAFFING SERVICE
Sizanid HR (“Sizanid”) and its subsidiaries (Sizanid Staffing), maintain relationships with many different companies and individuals in its supply chain, to facilitate the supply contract, interim, temporary and permanent workers to its clients, as a recruitment, staffing and training provider.
PURPOSE OF THIS STATEMENT
Modern slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking represent breaches of laws and international declarations including, but not limited to, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Modern Slavery Act 2015, the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018 and the US constitution. Sizanid always shows integrity and ethical conduct in its business relationships, which is reflected in our zero tolerance approach to the exploitation of individuals in any form. We are committed to opposing modern slavery in all its forms and we require the same commitments from all those who work for us and with whom we have business dealings.
This document sets out our methods for achieving these aims and details the standards we expect of all our stakeholders.
DEFINITIONS
Modern Slavery – the illegal exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain and whether the individual is tricked, coerced or forced; they lose their freedom
Servitude – often but not exclusively domestic work, performed in another person’s home, which is not regulated, not properly paid and where the worker may be a victim of abuse, exploitation or slavery, in circumstances where these illegal actions are hidden from sight and the victims lack access to legal protection.
Forced/Compulsory Labour – any work or services people are forced to do against their will, under threat of punishment, without payment or because their liberty is deprived through confiscation of ID documents of migrants (legal and illegal)
Human Trafficking – the use of violence, threats or coercion to transport, recruit or harbour people in order to exploit them for purposes such as forced prostitution, labour, criminality or marriage.
BUSINESS STRUCTURE AND INDUSTRY SPECIFIC RISKS
As a recruitment and staffing business operating in global markets, our entire business is predicated on connecting talented individuals with first class clients. Some of our candidates in the recruitment process seek work overseas, including offshore and nearshore work and such opportunities also come with higher risks. As such, we recognise that we have a greater responsibility than companies which operate mostly in business to business models, or in fewer geographies, to establish appropriate methods of assessing, preventing and mitigating risk of modern slavery occurring in their supply chains and organisation.
STEPS FOR THE PREVENTION OF MODERN SLAVERY
We are committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our legal and ethical obligations, including those under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Supply Chain Transparency & Risk Mitigation
We are fully committed to eliminating modern slavery, driving transparency across our business and supply chain in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Key Compliance Steps:
Internal Operations – Training, Processes and Compliance
All prospective employees will be interviewed against a set of core competencies that we deem to be inextricably linked to Sizanid staffing core values. Once hired, adherence to Sizanid staffing requirements in terms of conduct, behaviour and performance forms part of all team members’ obligations under their contract of employment.
Mitigation Through Personnel & Policy

Process Controls:
Policy Protection:
An appropriate reporting mechanism shall be maintained and operated to facilitate the disclosure of concerns. This system must fully ensure the protection of all whistleblowers, aligning entirely with the provisions established in the Sizanid Staffing Whistleblowing policy and procedure
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STATEMENT
The Sizanid HR board of directors, supported by its business leaders, has overall responsibility for ensuring this document and its implementation complies with Sizanid HR legal and ethical obligations.
SAFEGUARDS
We aim to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this statement, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We are committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of our own business or in any of our supply chains. Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, threats or other unfavourable treatment connected with raising a concern. Sizanid staffing accepts and takes serious concerns communicated anonymously.
However, retention of anonymity does render investigations and validation more difficult and can make the process less effective. Individuals are therefore encouraged to put their names to allegations.
Any claims or allegations made which are found to be malicious or vexatious will result in disciplinary action being taken against the individual.
COMMUNICATION AND AWARENESS OF THIS DOCUMENT
Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery must be communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter.
REVIEW
This document is subject to not less than annual review by Sizanid staffing executive leaders and amendments may be made more frequently, as the law or business practice determines.
